So here’s the story:
About an hour ago, my boyfriend was over watching a movie with me. At the end of the movie, I left the room to go to the restroom.
During the film, I heard his phone vibrate for a text message. He didn’t answer it then. Once I came back from the restroom, I entered the room and saw him texting away. I was just walking around a little, and when I finally decided to sit back down next to him, he closes his phone and puts it away in his pocket…PRETTY quickly.
I thought this was odd, so I just asked casually who texted him.
He said “Oh it was just my mom, she wanted to make sure I was going to leave for the birthday party on time.”
He said this with a little bit of a nervous laugh, and also faster than his normal speech. I automatically felt something was up…..
I gave him a funny look, and he was just like “what??” I said “oh, well you put your phone away pretty quickly, were you afraid I was going to see something you didn’t want me to see?” And he just laughed and was like ” OMG, come on…..” I just kept giving him the same look, and that’s when he started to get defensive:
“Seriously, your intuition is not even close to being right right now.”
Me: “well then why are you laughing and smiling? and why did you put your phone away so quickly?”
Him: “Well i was still texting while you were in the room”
Me: “yeah but as soon as I was about to sit down next to you, you quickly put it away”
Him: “I did not QUICKLY put it away, give me a break”
Me: “Well then why can’t you just prove it then? why can’t you just hold up your phone and say ‘look it’s my mom, see?’”
Him:”because that’s so effing ridiculous! i shouldn’t have to prove myself to you like that. OMG i’m leaving.”
I know it may sound like I’m totally being a paranoid freak, maybe I am. but this was just TOO Weird. normally he wouldn’t have such a problem showing me things like this….and since when does his MOM text him? not that I can remember…..
he always likes to text when i’m out of the room….is something up?
He said he had to be at a birthday party at 5:00. It was 5:00 when he left. I forgot to ask him something so I called his house phone and his mom picked up. It was 5:33. Why would his mom be home if they have a family birthday to be at?
Is he lying? How can I find out for sure? It’s really bothering me…..
OH! I FORGOT TO MENTION:
While we were arguing over this, I hear his phone vibrate again just moments later. I ask “so who is that?” And he just said “I DONT KNOW??”
So if was so “innocently” his mom, why wouldn’t he just say “oh it’s probably mom” and open his phone right there?
