The speech
Good afternoon ladies and gentleman, I am told that the best man speech should last as long as the groom takes to make love so………. THANK YOU LADIES AND GENTLEMEN.
No before I start I would like to thank Ian on behalf of the bridesmaids for his kind words, I think you will all agree that they do look absolutely stunning today, Only and quite rightly outshone by the beautiful bride Mrs Lucy Hadlet.
Now I have know Ian most of my life and we have done many things together over the years including playing a lot of sports such as tennis, football, table tennis, pool, snooker, cricket and rugby none of which Ian has ever been very good at but he tries hard.
There are a lot of smiling faces around here today, but none as happy as the 2 people to my left. They say that marriages are made in heaven well this one was made in FORDY FIELD.
I first new that Ian and Lucy were going to get together when every time we played hide and seek as kids they always ran to the same hiding spot as each other Lucy in here black and yellow kappa tracksuit and Ian in his black and orange addidas tracksuit. Perfectly suited!!!!!
I think Ian and Lucy make the perfect couple, first of all you have Lucy beautiful, smart, kind, caring, witty and funny I could go on and on, then there’s Ian (Yabba)

Now I am told that I would be failing in my best man duties if I didn’t included a story involving Ian and copious amounts of alcohol, well I have racked my brain over and over and came to the conclusion that Ian has led a sheltered life and been quite boring—-APART FROM the one night he let him self go, which involved him drinking his body weight in WHITE LIGHTNING, then preceding to throw it all back up again passing out and having to be carried all the way from Roseworth to glebe to be bumped on his mam and dads door step, before been taken to hospital. I think you should stick to the boring life mate.
On a serious note it has been a great honour for me today to be best man for these two amazing people and two of my closest friends, and the amount of people that have made the long journey all this way shows just how special they really are.
So LADIES AND GENTLEMEN will you please stand and join me in a toast.
