Bella asked:
I want to and have a lot of things to say, I especially want to thank my extended family, my fiance and my future-in-laws for being so good to me. Only problem is my parents - especially my mum - have been really difficult and nasty (they support the wedding, but are just being mean and difficult). I know my mum will get upset/jealous of what I say about others and she will be funny no matter what i say about her. I feel like it might be better to shut up and sit down. Only prob is that my future mother-in-law has asked to do a speech because she wants to talk about me (she really loves me)…

But when its all over you will regret the things that you didn’t do more than the ones that you did.

This is not the time to cause problems.
Talk to your future MiL and tell her how you feel; not only about how wonderful you feel about being a part of her family but how you don’t want to disrespect your parents. She will understand.
It used to be that only the Best man made a toast & the Father of the Bride thanked everyone for coming & helping celebrate. Now, we’ve started allowing all different people to start making speeches at the reception; the MoH, BM, friends. It can get rather boring. Don’t make a speech.

give the mothers a chance to say something at the rehearsal dinner and not the reception. If ur mother refuses then breathe a sigh of relief and be happy that you’re gaining a mother who really loves you!
