• famous funny speeches
    agnieszka.biskup asked:

Hi my name is Agnes and I’ve always wanted to be an actress. My parents say I actually have a potencial to become an actress because Im quite funny. I love to act out in front of my friends and family, make them laugh, make jokes etc, but unfortunately when it comes to public speeches in school, I get so nervous, I start to sweat and sometimes even mix up all the stuff I was supposed to say/read but if that happens I just read on!!! My mam says that maybe as I’m getting older this kind of ’shyness’ will dissapear, I hope so!
So she suggested that maybe I would like to try out acting on stage, she want’s me to sign up to some kind of Drama Classes. I think that it is really a good idea, in that way I could make sure if Acting is really the thing I want to do!She also says that the actors I see on TV also had to PRACTICE, sometimes for long years to become so good at acting, she says thatyou don’t get to be a famous actor/actress JUST LIKE THAT! I am all stressed out now because of mu J.C.(Junior Certificate) which I will be writing next June. Only after J.C. I can attend Drama lessons because now I have to study. Can anyone please give me some advices about what should I do to stop getting so stressed when lots of people are staring at me? Some people say it has to do with me not being confident enough.
I hope, and I am praying, that it will pass as I get older, because I really intend to become an Actress and later on move into New York or Los Angeles. I’ve always wanted to live in New York! One of my favourite actors lives there (Douglas Anthony Hutchison). Well at least that’s what I read about him on the internet!! So if you have any advice you could give me please e-mail to: aggie.biscuits@hotmail.com . Thanks a million! Agnes.

You’ve got to remember that it’s all in your head. You are not scared or nervous, your mind is set stubbornly in a certain way that makes you feel nervous every time a bunch of people look at you. It’s something that all actors feel. A trick I use a lot is to just pretend that after I go up there, I will never see any of those people ever again. It works wonders, let me tell you. Also, make sure never to look somebody in the eye unless you feel you have enough control to not freak out after wards. I’m sure you can overcome it.

Take really deep breaths before you start speaking. Speak slowly and with good diction. Stand up tall - if you look confident you’ll start to feel confident. Don’t doubt yourself - you know you’ve got talent and you have support. Your friends and family wouldn’t lie to you.
      Go get ‘em tiger!
      hehe :p
